Mary Blair is best known for her illustration and consulting work for the Walt Disney studio. Her modernist, stylized illustrations informed the It’s a Small World ride and park murals, and she drew concept art for several animated features. Regarded highly for her innate sense of color styling, Walt Disney recruited Blair’s expertise for projects like Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, and Dumbo.

A retrospective of Blair’s work is on display at the Walt Disney Family Museum until September 2014.
